Anyone with a mobile phone will tell you that personalisation is a must have, one way people do this is by having ring tones which will stand out form the crowd.
Having a ring tone which no one else has comes with it’s advantages, if you are in an area with a lot of other people the chances are there will be mobile phones ringing every few minutes, by having your own personal ring tones you can quickly identify if your mobile phone is ringing or a person close by.
iPhone ringtone’s are hard to get hold of unless you wish to pay for them from iTunes. But there is an alternative which allows you to create your very own personal ring tone’s which can be very unique to you. You will need some of your favourite mp3 music and a copy of iTunes installed on your computer.
•Step 1 – Ok to get started open iTunes.
• Step 2 – Choose one of your songs you would like to make into a ring tone.
• Step 3 – Ok now you need to listen to the song till you get to a good part that would make a good ring tone
• Step 4 – Now you need to make a note of the start point and end point of the part you want as a ring tone
• Step 5 – Now you need to right-click the song and select “Get Info.”
• Step 6 – Ok now you need to Click the “Options” tab.
• Step 7 – Ok now you need to type in the start point of your ring tone in the box next to”start time” minutes:seconds (i.e. 2:01) format.
• Step 8 – – Ok now you need to type in the end point of the ring tone you want making sure the ring tone is not any more than 40seconds long.
• Step 9 – Now click “OK.”
• Step 10 – Right-click your song again and select “Convert Selection to AAC.” Wait for iTunes to convert your song. It will create a duplicate version.
• Step 11 – Ok now you need to right-click the ringtone and select “Delete.”
• Step 12 – Ok now you need to click on the “Keep Files” button.
• Step 13 – Find the file. It’s usually in your User folder under Music > iTunes > iTunes Music and under the band’s name. It will have an extension of “m4a.”
• Step 14 – Replace the “m4a” extension of your ringtone with “m4r”. You can either double-click slowly to rename your file, or right-click and select “Get Info” on a Mac or “Rename” on a Windows PC.
• Step 15 – Ok now click “Use.m4r” or the PC equivalent when the system warns you that the change may affect the use of your file.
• Step 16 – Double-click the ringtone file. iTunes will automatically add it to your ringtones folder in your iTunes Music Library.
• Step 17 – Connect your iPhone and sync your ringtones.
You can now be happy knowing you have created free iPhone ringtone’s which will be unique and personal to you.
